With nearly 30 years experience in the field, we offer one of the most comprehensive whale watching tours in Queensland aboard a comfortable multi award-winning sailing vessel, taking you right to the spot where the whales are. Be ready for some tail-slapping, breaching, pectoral slapping or spy-hopping; these magnificent marine creatures will take your breath away as you get up close and personal with them in their own environment, creating a memory that will last forever.

The most mesmerising of mammals, the humpback whale (measuring as an adult between 12 and 16 metres and weighing 30 tons or more) is truly an object of majestic fascination. Typically migrating up to 25,000 kilometres each year to breed and give birth, Queensland, or specifically Hervey Bay, is lucky enough to play its role in this path from late July to November each year, allowing those who wish to get a glimpse of these gentle giants in their natural habitat, a prime opportunity.
Humpback whales are the star attraction on Hervey Bay’s event calendar as they visit like clockwork every season, taking time out of their epic migration to rest near Fraser Island where they teach their newborn calves to feed and communicate, before setting off on the long journey back to Antarctica. The whales love to put on a bit of a show and occasionally ‘heat runs’ can be witnessed, where a group of males chase a female with extraordinary speeds to win her affection as a mate.

Peter, your skipper, has spent nearly 30 years working with marine mammals, 14 of these as a marine mammal trainer at SeaWorld. Peter understands these glorious giants of the deep like no one else, and can tell you everything you need to know about them on your whale watching tour. He welcomes all your questions so please be sure to ask.
